Where Goldens are Family
In 1980 I took the plunge and opened my own veterinary clinic in Nacogdoches, TX. There were times during the day that I had no employees to restrain animals for me. That’s when I fell in love with Golden Retrievers. Because of their marvelous temperament, I could always treat them by myself without anyone to restrain them.
In 1981, when I was offered my first Golden, which I named Cotton, I took her home and was forever hooked.
Over the years my wife, Jan, and I have tried to breed quality working dogs with solid temperaments. While many of our pups are cherished companions, others are involved in hunting, sports, agility, and obedience.
We cannot take full credit for our breedings because we have always bred to the top males in the country. Anyone who has one of our dogs owes a big thank you to Mercedes Hitchcock, Pat and Charles Jones, Nancy and John Miner, Terry Woods, Sue Kecskemethy, and Jim Drager. Without these committed people we would not have the wonderful dogs that we have now.
