Our Doctor/Staff

  • Michael Connolly, DVM
    Dr. Connolly graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1974 and was accepted into the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M where he graduated in 1977. He opened Connolly Animal Clinic in Nacogdoches, Texas in August 1980 and has treated dogs and cats exclusively since graduation. He is a member of the AVMA and AAHA and enjoys both feline and canine medicine and surgery. He continues to update the clinic's equipment and protocols to keep pace with the latest improvements in Veterinary Medicine.His hobbies include hunting, salt water fishing and Golden Retrievers. He is an AKC licensed hunt test judge and member of the Brazosport Retriever Club.
  • Stan Blackwell, DVM
    Dr. Blackwell received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1975. He has practiced as a small animal veterinarian since graduation. Dr. Blackwell owned and operated Maple Veterinary Hospital in Troy, Michigan for 16 years before taking a position with the United States Department of Agriculture and moving to Nacogdoches the oldest town in Texas. Dr. Blackwell is returning to his passion for treating dogs and cats by becoming a member of the Connolly Animal Clinic team. He enjoys gardening with a special interest in Hostas.

  • Jan Connolly
    Jan works as our office manager. She spends her spare time with her husband, Dr. Connolly, training their golden retrievers and spoiling the grandkids.

  • Angela Blankenship
    Angela is from Decatur, Texas. She transferred to SFA from Kansas State in 2012 to pursue a career in Agriculture. She is now a graduate of SFA with a Bachelors in Animal Science. She recently enrolled in a Veterinarian Technician program to earn her certificate and better the lives of animals. Angela has always had a passion for helping animals. She adopted her Border Collie mix, Axel, in May 2014 and Domestic Short hair cat, Aspen, in July 2016 from the Nacogdoches Animal Shelter and in February 2016 she adopted her Domestic Short hair cat, Cyprus from the Angelina County Humane Society. Since their adoptions, Axel, Cyprus and Aspen have been spoiled with toys from their new best friend.

  • Casey McDonald
    Casey is from Center TX. She graduated High School in 2012. She lives here in Nacogdoches. She has always had a passion for her animals especially her kitties and dog Grace! She adopted her cat Reba, in May 2013 at the Nacogdoches Animal Shelter, and welcomed her other cats, Ralph in June 2014 and Rhett in April 2016. They all keep her on her toes, but she wouldn’t have it any other way. She has been working at Connolly Animal Clinic since August 1, 2014 and considers everyone at work family.

  • Johanna Armstrong
    Joe is from Euless, Texas. She graduated from Trinity High school in 2013. She went to Tarrant Community College for American Sign language for three years before moving to Nacogdoches in August of 2016. She has always had a passion for animals and volunteered at the Euless Animal Shelter all through High School. She soon rescued two cats, Kitty and Kracker, shortly after moving to Nacogdoches. She saved her newest member Texas, a border collie mix from the Nacogdoches Animal Shelter in August 2017.
